Orchid:  A Radical Interdisciplinary Approach to Cognitive Disability Advocacy

            We are talking about a profoundly:

• inter-disciplinary approach
  • that includes Science
  • Law
  • Philosophy
  • the Humanities,
  • Economics and Employment and 
  • Religion/Faith
• ​ultimately an international approach that recognizes the unique needs of place and culture
• an approach that addresses the Social Determinants of Health and Health Inequities
• that addresses policy at the local, regional and international levels

What we have currently been able to do with Orchid Advocacy and Orchid Global is HINT at what could be done with this -- however imperfectly.

There is a lot of IRONY in being able to CONNECT all this up -- and a lot of people would say -- it is not necessarily the HEALTHIEST MIND that can do it.

Further, the HUMANITIES have often sustained those less than healthy minds, even as we've struggled to support the Arts and Humanities  -- their INSIGHTS are not the IRRELEVANT musings of a bygone age -- and they have much to teach us -- with needed  INSIGHTS of those LIVING NOW.

Religion and Faith are a POWERFUL FORCE in this VALE OF TEARS and FAILED SYSTEMS and PEOPLE.

Philosophy could serve as an important bridge in the gap between SCIENCE and RELIGION -- with the powerful knowledge that much is in how we DEFINE it.

We've re-defined Science and Religion/Faith many times over the MILLENIA.

If we could figure out how to get on the SAME TEAM without SACRIFICING OUR INTEGRITY -- the future looks very bright.
