Our Letter to the Court on Behalf of a Defendant with Severe & Persistent Mental Illness

       In April 2020, we wrote a letter on behalf of an inmate in prison.  We wrote this letter at the request of the Colorado Public Defenders Office.

         One of the great challenges for States across the country and in Colorado is recognizing the need for long term care by many within the Criminal Justice Population.
Our Great Concern:
On paper Colorado looks pretty good, until one realizes that for all the bureaucracy, there are still NOT ENOUGH intensive services, or placements and some agency with the State needs to be providing sufficient Housing for people with disabilities.
