50% to 80% of people in the criminal justice system have a Traumatic Brain Injury. In the general public, that number is less than 5%.

So perhaps there’s a good reason many people can’t escape the revolving door of criminal justice. --- Brain researcher Kim Gorgens a professor of Psychophysiology, Clinical Neuropsychology, and Psychology of Criminal Behavior at the University of Denver.

This looks like such a fantastic program -- and we would like to see the CO Dept. of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) [CO Medicaid] part of this network.

If people are ever going to get the Medicaid Services they need -- it is going to have to come through HCPF.

Dept of Local Affairs, Div. of Housing, is probably also critical.

  • CONCLUSIONS Sixty-nine million (95% CI [Confidence Interval] 64-74 million) individuals are estimated to suffer TBI from all causes each year, with the Southeast Asian and Western Pacific regions experiencing the greatest overall burden of disease.                                                    Head injury following road traffic collision is more common in LMICs [Low & Middle Income Countries], and the proportion of TBIs secondary to road traffic collision is likewise greatest in these countries.                                           
                                 Meanwhile, the estimated incidence of TBI is highest in regions with higher-quality data, specifically in North America and Europe.
